The story of the Kasteel van Ordingen began some 1000 years ago in the town of Sint Truiden, about 40 miles from Brussels. During it’s long and interesting history, the castle has change hands a number of times. A new beginning occurred when the castle and estate were sold in 2020 to a management company, and placed in the hands of Richard Sleurs. The castle is a well preserved and designed hotel of 32 rooms, plus additional rooms in an enjoining building. Today, the castle is a 5 star Relais & Chateau, with the chef Arne Beirincky offering a wonderful and interesting tasting menu in his restaurant, the Aurum. The hotel accommodations are spacious and impressive, and the staff wonderfully pleasant. My wife and I spent 2 evenings at the hotel and its restaurant, and can recommend Kasteel van Ordingen without reservation. It is a real jewel in an interesting area of Belgium.
