South of the Border is far more fun - and original - than you might expect. A must-see!
South of the Border的点评
点评：It could be so very easy to drive past South of the Border and think it's just a cheesy tourist trap, but it's SO worth visiting if you're in that area! Even if all you do is browse it's many shops (free to visit... no pressure to buy anything), it's astonishing and FUN!
We always stop there to fill our car's gas tank as we're driving between Maine and Florida. And we almost always go into at least one or two of the very eccentric shops, and buy an item or two. (They really are delightful, and the prices are reasonable.)
The shops are rarely crowded, the staff are fun to chat with (and smiling!), and we almost always spend at least 30 minutes in their biggest shop. (In the smaller shops, 10 - 15 minutes is usually enough to see if we want to buy anything... and we usually do!)
This site is best for people who enjoy a bit of kitsch, appreciate the humor of some of the items, or for those who want a cold beverage or a good meal. (I think there's more than one restaurant there, but we've only visited the one connected to the big store.)
We're looking forward to our next visit!
