Cheery Hi! A great experience if not a little rushed.

点评：This was our first time at Lapland UK after many positive recommendations from friends. It was on the whole a really great experience, and our kids particularly our 5 year old absolutely loved it and were immersed in the walkthrough. This is an elaborate sequence of mini shows with very high production quality as you progress through your travels into Lapland and ultimately an elven village with shops and skating, and then the man himself - FC. The whole day has a kind of immersive narrative that starts with an invitation you can deliver to your kids however you choose ahead of time, then the idea is the kids help the elves make a penguin toy for FC which ultimately you can deliver on Xmas eve after the visit. The kids love spotting the elves which they could identify from the pictures on the invite. It is very well designed and all fits together well as a holistic experience - most impressive were the creative attention to detail in the physical scenery, the shows particularly the effort on the set and lighting and a major effort made by all staff to create an experience from the elves. The FC was probably the best I've seen and you have the chance to prompt him with some personal facts ahead of time. This is 500% more than your typical Santa experience and it really was worth it as a one off. I heard some people checking in and mentioning they'd been a few times before. There is scope for some minor variations based on whether you are reindeer or husky group but I'm not sure I'd repeat it again too soon as feel it is done now especially for the cost, nearly a grand all in for the family.
Of course there are some areas for improvement. There was a definite sense of being pushed along quickly through the shows. Kids are meant to get a stamp each stage of the experience, and they rushed it in the toy shop so no stamps were given and the penguin making was very rushed which is a shame as it's the core part of the story/experience. Despite this the crowd is of manageable size and it didn't feel over crammed. You are given a time to exit the village and see FC. It gives you 60-90 minutes in the village which isn't really enough to do all the possibilities you'd like for example eat, skate, visit gift shop and write a letter. We had to skip the letter. Skating was really great. Finally we didn't really like the way we saw kids coming back from FC on our way down the magic paths to get there. Surely they could have let them exit down a separate path and isolated the experience a bit.
So overall I'd recommend it as a one off. Try to push your luck a bit and overstay in the village if you can because the conveyer belt feeling is there despite the staff/performer best efforts. Clearly they are there to max the cash possible in terms of throughput and prices on the day - as you might expect they push their luck a little on this bit but not significantly to the detriment of the total experience.
