点评:We had the opportunity to discover more about Pijao thanks to Diana from Bio Onda, an excellent guide and interpreter of the territory. Our day began with a Jeep Willys ride through the rural area of Pijao, where we explored its rich flora and fauna. We love birdwatching, and Diana has a special talent for spotting them: we were lucky enough to see a Motmot (Barranquero) that posed as if it wanted to be the model for Diana’s camera.
Later, we explored the urban area of Pijao, admiring its traditional architecture and colorful murals. Diana surprised us with a visit to Casa Solaz, where its owner, Doña Olga, welcomed us not only into her home —a gem built in bahareque, a traditional construction technique that has stood strong for almost 100 years— but also into her soul and her family’s. It was a truly intimate and meaningful moment that allowed us to better understand the authenticity and value of the Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia.
The experience ended with a delicious cup of coffee at Casa Solaz, prepared with beans from small local coffee growers who work with deep care for their land and traditions, preserving both the natural and cultural heritage of Pijao.
Without a doubt, it was a transformative experience that connected us to the essence of this region and helped us disconnect from daily routine.
Thank you, Diana, for everything
