点评:We absolutely loved visiting Casa Azul. As longtime fans of Frida, it was so meaningful to walk through the actual rooms where she lived, painted, and spent so much of her life. Seeing her studio, her bed, her kitchen, and the courtyard up close brought a whole new dimension to her story. The Patti Smith poem above her bed and the love notes from Diego scattered through the garden were unexpectedly moving touches.
One heads up: it was packed when we went, which made the indoor rooms feel a little rushed. If you can, book the earliest entry slot of the day to beat the worst of the crowds.
The standout for us was the special exhibition on her wardrobe, "Appearances Can Be Deceiving." It's tucked away in the rear courtyard building and isn't very well signed, so we almost missed it entirely. Don't make that mistake. The crowds inside were much thinner, and seeing her actual dresses, jewelry, and even her orthopedic corsets up close was incredibly powerful. It completely changed how we see her self-portraits.
Five stars. Plan ahead, get tickets in advance through Fever, and don't skip the wardrobe building.
