点评:On looking back on prior reviews posted, of which there are not many, our experience mirrors that as described by others who had this working farm and horsemanship display included as part of their Viking Danube River cruise stop in Kolacso.
I will preface the review by acknowledging that horse riding is not my personal cup of tea, but the horses were truly beautiful, and the skills of the riders to be admired. Evidently this farm was known to exist as early as the 13th century, and they're doing a great job trying to maintain the riding skills and Hungarian heritage. As others have noted, considering how many tour buses stopped, they really need a bit more in the way of bathroom facilities. They do have some gift shops and options to purchase some local brandy and paprika. They should have done a better job advertising the option of buying a bag of carrots for a euro or dollar and then feed them to the horses in the stable period. If anyone is reading this review and will be visiting the site, the carrot bag is at the far end of the area selling knickknacks, just facing the barn. Be prepared for the fact that the staff speaks zero English, it was very difficult to get them to point out where the carrots were located though we had been advised that this was something we could do.
We took our time going through the barn, enjoyed seeing the horses, pigs.
Our tour guide advised us that there are four breeds of horses in Hungary, three of them on display during our demonstration. The white work cattle are evidently another specialty of Hungary.
We were also advised of the history here, as noted above, bdating back to the 1300s, falling prey to the problems during the communistic era, and then regaining its status when privatization took place in the 1990s. They evidently breed horses but do not sell them, they also have a large number of sheep as well as the above referenced cattle.
For what it's worth, my wife loved the visit, she got to feed the horses, nice photo opportunities.
Only a 20 minute drive on the bus from the dock on the Danube.
