点评：We just returned from a fantastic 6-day mobile camping trip in May with Letaka Safaris in Botswana! We saw an unbelievable amount of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, buffalo, several species of antelope, painted dogs, crocodiles, monitor lizards……. and we identified close to 100 different species of birds. Our guide, Benjamin, said we were very lucky, but we strongly believe it was much more likely because of his remarkable knowledge of the bush and his ability to predict when and where to see the animals! He was also very mindful of getting us to the very best views and lighting so that we could get good photographs, many even with cell phones! He never put us in any danger, but got us right in the middle of some incredible wildlife encounters. Benjamin was the best!!
Camp life was great; we enjoyed delicious meals cooked outside by an always helpful group of guys, as well as morning coffee/tea breaks and gin and tonic sundowners while on the game drives. We had fresh-baked breads and cakes, as well as delicious three-course meals. The beds were comfortable and cozy for the cool nights, and listening to the sounds of the bush at night was magical. A camping safari might not be for everyone, but for us it was perfect.
We completed our trip to Africa with a two-night stay at a lodge and two nights in Victoria Falls. Although those were also great, the authenticity of the mobile camping safari couldn't be beat. Six days with a small group of like-minded individuals made for a truly exceptional adventure that we will never forget.
