点评：Forget the tour's and use the train, for 2 reasons first is the cost, it will be so much cheaper only 11TnD 1st class by train and 10Tnd total 21Tnd approx £5
Secondly and more importantly the amount of time you will have to explore the site, which is extensive. I downloaded a guide to the site which is invaluable to get the best out of your visit. You are not being led around like a gaggle of geese listening to a guide repeating the same thing 4 time's in 4 different languages. If like me you have got a local data card any questions you may have can quite easily be answered by your phone.
Don't worry about not being able to find the site, you can literally see it from the train and must only be about 5/600 yards from the station.
Something to bare in mind is to be ready to disembark straight away as the train doesn't stop for long.
I am not going to include photos as there are already lots of those. But I will put the time table for outbound from sousse to El jem and the return journey (be aware that there are only 4 trains per 24 hours each way, so be at station 15 minutes before due time's) .This train can also take you to alot of other major destinations in Tunisia including its capital. Plus for those who are budget conscious it is the most economic way to travel even more so than the local buses which I would not recommend as the majority are poorly maintained.
So if you fancy doing it your way. I would say go for it. You will see far more of the real Tunisia.
