点评:My family made the trek down to walk Circles in the Sand at 9 a.m. At first, none of us were particularly impressed—it didn’t look like much from the parking area above - the eastern side of the circles. But that changed once we approached from the west side. The sunlight hit the sand differently, and suddenly all the intricate patterns and circles popped to life. It’s a completely different experience from that angle.
The event begins with about 20 minutes of introduction and storytelling by the artist and his team. Then, they invite you to pull a colored stone from a pouch before you begin the walk. The labyrinth itself is a single continuous path—beautifully designed and surprisingly intricate. Some people move faster than others, and since it’s a narrow path, it can be hard to pass, which might frustrate the speedier walkers.
And this all takes place on a beautiful rocky beach with sea caves and tidal pools, so after you walk the circles, there's a lot to explore.
That said, we really enjoyed the experience, it felt very communal. There are bathrooms right in the parking lot. I definitely recommend arriving early—parking fills up fast. For a 9 a.m. event, plan to get there by 8:30. We arrived at 8:45 and snagged the very last spot. Bonus: dogs are welcome!
