点评：After collecting the Campervan, we ventured to Simpsons Gap, which is the closest of the gorges to Alice Springs. Here you can hike to Rock Wallaby habitats.
Afterwards, our afternoon drive was very scenic ending with the Ellery Creek swim hole Campground, following the sealed Northern Road into the Western MacDonnell Ranges.
The swim hole is very inviting, but the water is cool. It is recommended to do the Dolomite Walk, as you see multiple examples of the colourful twisted formations along the way, and a very scenic lookout.
Next day was a short 50 Km drive to the Ormiston Gorge Campground. Its facilities are more extensive than Ellery Creek, with a café (with WIFI), shower block, BBQ’s complete with night lights and USB Ports.
The hike to the Ghost Gum Ridge is very spectacular, but an afternoon down by the ponds is equally relaxing. Neither Ellery Creek or Ormiston offer powered sites.
