Outstanding Guide Made Up for Administrative Challenges

点评：Our group of 24 members from Centenary Senior Branch, Irish Girl Guides, visited the Palais des Nations in June 2025. While the experience had its ups and downs, our exceptional tour guide made it truly memorable.
The Highlight - Our Amazing Guide: We were fortunate to have Grainne from Naas as our guide, and she was absolutely outstanding. Meeting someone who actually works at the UN was genuinely inspirational for the girls and young women in our group. Grainne's knowledge, enthusiasm, and warmth completely transformed our visit - it was like a light switch the moment we met her.
Areas for Improvement: The advance booking process was extremely cumbersome, particularly for youth groups. Having to provide individual emails for each person and then collect all 24 passes in advance created unnecessary complications, despite having all required details ready. The UN should definitely consider a more streamlined system for organized groups.
Additionally, the arrival experience at the building felt quite unwelcoming, which was disappointing for our excited group of young people.
Overall: Despite the administrative hurdles and initial welcome, Grainne's exceptional guidance made this a worthwhile and inspiring experience for our Girl Guides. The content and tour itself were excellent once we got started.
Recommendation: Book well in advance and be prepared for administrative complexity, but know that the educational experience is valuable, especially with guides like Grainne.
