Beautiful building, True Public Space
The New Central Library的点评
点评：I visited the Public Library in Calgary on my own and was amazed by its stunning architecture. This building is truly a gem with the impressive glass facade that draws you in and inside its open airy spaces, unique geometric features and curved wooden design make it a fascinating building to explore. The exterior sculptures makes the surroundings just as captivating as the interior and set the tone for what's inside.
A friend had recommended taking a guided tour but unfortunately, I didn’t have time for it. From what I saw, though, I’d agree that a tour would have likely enhance the experience by adding context and history on the building's design and features.
On a less positive note there were homeless individuals sheltering in the elevator and in the building, which highlighted some of the social realities of urban life.
If you're an architecture buff or appreciate beautiful public spaces, the Central Library is worth a visit, just try to allow time for a proper tour.
