Beautiful scenery. Expensive Gondola

点评：We enjoyed 2/3 of a day doing some easy hiking in the beautiful scenery here.
The main trails that are accessed from the top of the gondola/chairlift ride are well maintained and easy/not technically difficult. There are some stairs and some ups and downs.
We were there in early September, after peak wildflower season; but the grounds were still very attractive and colorful - with reddish, green, yellow and white plants and flowers. With the pretty flora, well maintained gravel paths, and clear signs, it felt more like a botanical garden than a wilderness hike.
This is a very tranquil setting - but not really a tranquil experience. At least on the day we visited, the hikes around the lakes seemed to attract tourists who liked to shout to each other as they walked around the lakes. It was not particularly peaceful. This area also seems a popular place for guided hikes. You don't need a guide to find your way around, but I'm sure a guide can add value explaining flora etc. For independent travelers, the guided groups do detract from the experience a little. The guides understandably have to talk quite loudly for the groups to hear, so you will be hearing noise from the guided groups as you walk around the main trails.
Staff are friendly.
The gondola ride up to the trails (marketed as a "flight!") is not cheap - about 75 CAD per person. If on a budget, you might be better off skipping this spot and hiking in some of the other beautiful scenery in and around Banff National Park. If 75 CAD seems to you a modest/reasonable fee for a gondola ride in the summer, then I would recommend spending a half day or more seeing the beautiful scenery of Sunshine Meadows.
