点评：An absolutely outstanding experience. We had Sylvestre take us on a private tour from Paris to the Verdun battlefield. From the first to the last, he was terrific. I wasn’t sure which battlefield to visit but when I wrote Sylvestre, he patiently explained the differences between the various sites, leading us to settle on Verdun. He then picked us up at our rental apartment and drove us through the countryside to the scene. Along the way, he was personable, organized and knowledgeable - an excellent travel companion and guide. Once there, he led us through the remarkably preserved battlefield. We climbed in and out of trenches, dodged barbed wire and explored large underground forts while Sylvestre explained and contextualized what we were seeing. He also took us to the excellent Verdun museum and the incredibly moving Ossury, where the dead, both known and unknown, are memorialized. It was all terrific and I cannot recommend this tour more highly.
