What a disappointment!! Don’t waste your money.
We moved to North Yorkshire over a year ago and Mainsgill farm shop has been on our radar for a visit. So, today we set off with an empty cool bag for a good shop from the butchers counter and a spot of lunch, of which we thought would be delicious after reading their quote on their website “We strive to provide you with food of the highest standard possible”
We ordered beef burger, chips with salad and a ham salad - The burger was salty served in very cheap poor quality bread, the chips were inedible as I think they had been re-fried to warm them up with a few spinach leaves with old tomatoes, old cucumber and sliced onion. The ham salad was slightly better as the ham was ‘nice’ although it looked to have been thrown on the plate from afar, the salad was the same as above and the coleslaw was swimming in watery mayonnaise. All for the princely sum of £26. I would not call this “Food of the highest standard possible” …. Quite the contrary.
We left swiftly without spending another penny on drinks, cakes or at the butchers counter as planned!….. Sadly, Mainsgill farm shop is now off our radar and we will not visit again.
