Recently visited Raigad Fort on February 15, 2025.
An architectural marvel in itself.
Some information which might help others who would like to visit Raigad Fort-
1. Raigad ropeway -
~ Booked the Ropeway ticket online through their official website.
~ You have to enter information ( Name, age, aadhar No ).
~ Because the same information you have to fill at the ticket counter manually on a form.
~ Prefer getting online tickets. It saves time.
~ Charges - Adult Rs 315 ( both way ) Child Rs 210 ( Both way)
~ When you visit the Ropeway center. On the left are the queues. On the right there is a desk for online tickets.
~ They scan the bar code on the soft copy of the ticket and issue hard copy of tickets.
~ Once it is done you enter the queue.
~ It is fast. As there are 8 ropeway carriers. Each carrier carrying 6 persons.
~ Maximum waiting time will be 30 mins.
~ Neat clean paid ( Rs 5 per person) washroom at the base station.
~ Ropeway canteens at the base as well as top stations which serves variety of food with decent quality.
~ Private parking facility available for Rs 100.
2. Road ( How to reach Raigad Ropeway lower station)
~ We travelled from Pune
~ Route - Pune - Tahmini - Nizampur - Pachad - Hirkaniwadi ( Base village )
~ Road conditions excellent till Raigad.
3. Fort Raigad -
~ Once you reach Top station of the Ropeway there are toilets, canteen facility available.
~ Entry for Raigad fort is Rs 25 per person for Adults. Kids are exempted.
~ Now here is a part we think we got it wrong, Guide part.
~ Guide charges recently are Rs 1000 ( 18 points and approximate 1 hour). Rs 2000 ( All major points approximate 3 hours)
~ We went for Rs 2000 for 3 hours and all major points. The guide did cover major part but was not that informative.
~ Would suggest you hire a guide through a known person.
~ You do not have toilets on the Fort. They say it is near the market place but was not functional. As it was newly built.
~ You get water, food items etc on the fort. No need to carry any food.
~ For lunch we wanted to try out homemade food on the fort.
~ We ordered for Pitla-Bhakri homemade from Indubai Aukirkar. Have posted their card in the pics section.
~ They serve fresh cooked food along with curd, buttermilk inside their house.
~ A different experience having food inside their fort houses. Would suggest to try it.
Overall a amazing experience. Usually not the appropriate time to visit the fort as it is getting hot.
Right time will be from November to January. Or in the monsoon season to see the most amazing views and climate.
But request to all.. Please do visit this Fort.. It is an architectural marvel...
