点评：We had visited the spa at the Grand Wailea years ago, and it was the single most unique spa experience we had ever had. When we picked Maui for our Babymoon destination, we were so excited to return. We were staying at the Westin (which has its own spa) but instead drove 100 minutes roundtrip out of our way just to come back to the spa at the Grand Wailea. When we arrived, we found that the spa wasn't renovated, so much as completely gutted and an entirely different spa was built in its place. The new spa is very modern, but a very generic, corporate-luxury spa experience (complete with pay-to-play areas). The old spa was one of a kind (their rainbow-colored nautilus array of hydrotherapy pools were incredible) . When we realized the spa we had booked was completely different, we asked for a refund. This was a splurge we had only made with the impression that we were booking the spa we remembered at the Grand Wailea, or at least a renovated version that bore any resemblance to it. Even though we had only booked 90 minutes prior, they wouldn't give us one, as we had booked the 'service' not the 'spa'. While the massages were excellent, we had indeed booked for the entire spa experience, which was woefully overpriced. This whole experience was a complete letdown, and their complete indifference to our disappointment left us leaving the spa anything but refreshed and relaxed. We'd been recommending the spa at the Grand Wailea to everyone for years, and only recently, one of our friends who took us up on our recommendation returned to say it was underwhelming and overpriced. We were so surprised to hear them say this, and now after returning ourselves, we understand why. We will not be back, we will not be recommending it to anyone.
