点评：Ouma was our guide for several days, when looking for very specific birds on our ‘wish-list’. In previous years we visited Kenya, Uganda and neighboring countries, therefore we had seen quite a lot of bird species. Ouma had the difficult task to add 10-12 ‘new’ birds, so-called ‘lifers’. Of course we enjoyed watching all the birds found in the west of Kenya, but Ouma went to some unfamiliar locations (not the standard national parks). He showed us the roosting place of Red-headed Lovebird. We walked his land and found the Speckled-breasted Woodpecker. In the surrounding fields we heard the Whistling Cisticola (and many more…). But Ouma also came with a surprise and showed us the recently discovered Bamboo Warbler! All those lifers are found in only a few places in the west of Kenya, but Ouma found them.
In short, Ouma is very knowledgeable. And not only about birds but on specialist habitats as well. Highly recommended.
