点评:My Mexican Kitchen in Bucerias
Most people love to eat, socialize, and learn something new. Well, Chef Travis and Chef Edgar have all 3 of those covered in style and variety. Not only do you come into their home (I think it is their home), but you get to meet new people, party and eat with them, and you don’t even have to clean up because Patricia takes care of that!
This was our third class with the chefs. Each time we meet new people and learn new recipes or add to our Mexican knowledge. The chefs work as a tag team as well as side by side sharing and presenting. They have a big variety of class choices, so depending on what strikes your fancy, they probably have a class that you’d be interested in taking. The second class we took (years ago) was about peppers and salsas. It really wasn’t my choice, but I loved the guys from our first class and thought, “Sure, why not.” OMG! This class was so informational and once again, I was reminded that the restaurants that I go to, go to a lot of work to make my meal. Once again, the food was delicious.
After entering their home, you wash your hands and find a place to sit. The table is high and set for 7. There are some food items on the table. Water is offered. When everyone is settled and you’ve met the other participants, instruction begins. The only negative to this cooking class is that you really don’t share in the cooking very much. I’ve been in classes where you prepare the entire meal, or your part is to make a certain dish, or sous chef the entire time. This class is about learning and sharing and oh yes, eating and eating and in case you’re not full, more eating as each recipe is made. Some people call this grazing. As much as I love a cooking class where I am an active participant (you do get to assist with some sous chef moments like chopping or slicing) in the preparation of a dish/meal, I really can’t complain. I love their classes, them, and my evening of fun.
Chef Edgar and Chef Travis offer other options from tours to catering. Kudos to them and my gratitude for another wonderful experience and evening in their home!
