点评:The weather was truly a gale, hard rain and even harder wind but my husband and I knew weather in March would be difficult and we had good rain jackets and rain pants. Out we went with Shane, no one else showed and even with the weather had one of the most interesting, informative walks. Besides having a deep knowledge of botany, geology, history and archeology, Shane is also just amazingly funny. He is a former cow farmer, now sheep farmer (with degrees in archeology and business) and he looks at the Burren from all sorts of angles and with an intimate knowledge and respect. We clambered over stone walls (of course, he knew whose fields we were walking in), commented on the breed of cow we were passing, all in the middle of a lesson in how the Burren was formed. We visited a stone tomb and a holy well (dedicated to teeth) and had a lecture on the Irish man and stone walls. If you are in County Clare, make sure to book a walk with Shane. It was without question a highlight of our trip.
