Busy but very nice - great day out

点评：We came from Edinburgh for the first time to Aberdour after several family members recommended it.
Parking was £2, don’t let the long ques put you off, they have attendants working, one for taking the money (card accepted aswell as cash) the next for directing you into a space so that the car park fills up in order and people park sensibly! We could see our car from the beach from a distance.
There is the lovely little beach, a cafe,ice cream stall and toilets and a tap for washing off, baby change and disabled toilets. There is disabled parking for blue badge holders.
Between the beach and the grassy car park there is a large grassy areas where you can play sports or simply sit if you are not a fan of the sand. Next to the sand there are also some grassy areas. The beach was very busy but space for everyone. Don’t expect peace, there are dogs, kids and adults all enjoying the space but there was no loud music or crowds like I’ve experienced several times at portobello beach.
You can spend the day here, you can definitely find quiet spots on the main grass if you need a calmer environment for toddlers to sleep and then go back to playing. Or just nip back to the car.
Water was very cold so baby just had a dip of toes. Lots of people paddle boarding and swimming though. The tide came in very quickly to be aware if you sit near the front. If you like to spot planes they were regularly passing by.
We stopped by a chip shop in south queensferry on the way back to Edinburgh and had fish and ice cream overlooking the bridge
