点评：Went down during a DIG. Extra $ for dig days but I thought it was worth every penny. I got some really interesting rocks. I go to Arkansas a lot and I found some different pieces here with heavy manganese and others with rose quartz and a few with heavy iron but I swear the latter makes the rock look like orange calcite. IRON OUT does nothing to it since it is deep inside the rock. Love it.
Parking is easy. Drank a ton of water but did not have to use the restroom but there is one.
Lots of room to spread out with different areas to dig so I did not feel cramped.
Do not come too early. I arrived about 10 minutes before, and the gate was not open. Not much room for more than two cars to back up before you are waiting in the road.
There was a gentleman to come around from the BBQ place up the road (about an hour after opening) and ask if I wanted to order lunch. I had brought something in my cooler so did not, but I will next time since I now know that service exists. Not sure if he comes for the weekend public digs.
I spent about 5 hours and enjoyed myself. Chris is really nice and informative.
If you have never been to this area, forget about going back into Atlanta. OMG. It has gotten too crowded and crazy for driving. I used to love going to the big city, but I avoided it after having come from there.
