点评:During 1839 the Sydney to Melbourne postie begin crossing the Goulburn River at a ford near this site, replacing the old crossing place at Mitchellstown. By August of the same year a punt was in operation at the site, and by December a clever man, John Clark, established an Inn... near the current Royal Hotel. He was Seymour's first townsman making Seymour one of Victoria's oldest settlements. There were also blacksmiths and sawyers settling in the area.
So from humble beginnings came this rather relaxing and peaceful river area. It has public toilets at the site and BBQs... and a handful of fishing platforms ( that I mistook for viewing platforms). There is a boat ramp here as well.
If you follow Manners Street there are three places to park the car... depending on what your needs are. The third stop does not have BBQ facilities, nor toilets and is just a fishing platform.
