点评:Anne’s tours were recommended to us by friends and she did not disappoint! Although Anne was born an American, she has lived in Italy for over 50 years and could relate to us as Americans while educating us about the fascinations of Italy, especially Assisi. She is an extremely gifted historian and storyteller. We did a tour of the Basilica in Assisi on our first day. It was amazing! No one knows the Basilica or the history of St. Francis like Anne. She is both knowledgeable and passionate and tells the story of the Life of St. Francis like no other! Our second tour was of Deruta where we toured a maiolica pottery factory followed by a farm to table family style lunch hosted by a local Italian Nona and her granddaughter. It was the highlight of our 2 week stay in Italy. Aside from the unbelievable food, we were treated like family with love, warmth and grace. I was especially touched by the fact that although our hostess tragically lost her husband to COVID during the pandemic, she opened her home and her heart to strangers so they may experience true, authentic Italian hospitality and culture. We will carry rose memories for a lifetime ❤️
