A Hidden Gem with a Challenging Trek – Dimiao Twin Falls

点评：Visiting Dimiao Twin Falls (Pahangog Falls) was a memorable experience, but it’s not for the faint-hearted!
Getting There
From Panglao, it took about 1 hour by car to reach Dimiao. Upon arrival, there’s an entrance fee of ₱20 for locals and ₱50 for foreigners. A parking fee of ₱50 is also required. You’ll also need a local guide (₱200), as the trail can be tricky.
To reach the falls, you can either:
Trek for 10-15 minutes on foot.
Ride a motorbike (habal-habal) for ₱200 round trip.
The Experience
The trek down includes a steep 500-step descent, making it a physically demanding journey. However, once you reach the falls, the refreshing waters and picturesque scenery make the effort worthwhile. You can swim, jump from rocks, and take amazing photos of the twin cascades.
Pros & Cons
✅ Pros:
✔ Stunning natural beauty with crystal-clear water
✔ Great for adventure seekers and nature lovers
✔ Local guides available for assistance
✔ Less crowded compared to other waterfalls
❌ Cons:
✘ Physically demanding trek (500 steps down and up)
✘ Not suitable for children, seniors, or those with mobility issues
✘ Entrance & guide fees can add up
✘ Limited facilities (bring your own food & water)
Final Thoughts
For me, this will probably be my first and last visit due to the challenging hike, but it’s definitely worth experiencing at least once. If you plan to visit, make sure you're physically fit and ready for an adventure.
