First class zoo
卡尔加里动物园的点评
点评：We were lucky to visit the zoo on a snowy day early April, which having come from southern England made our visit even better.
Highlights animal wise were the penguins, Siku the polar bear, the river otters, wolves gorillas, hippos and Komodo dragons just to name a few.
I morally struggle with zoos but I love and appreciate getting to see animals that I would otherwise not be able to. Calgary zoo in my opinion sets an example as to how a zoo should be. Animals looked to be content, had enrichment and large and interesting enclosures.
It's obvious that money is being put into the zoo for further improvements going by the construction work and I look forward to seeing this when we return in a couple of years.
There are lots of staff about to talk to and it really increases your enjoyment of your visit as you get to learn more and find out about the animals and how they are cared for. It's also evident that the staff are passionate about what they are there to do.
