点评:We’ve been supporting 1781 for years, but after tonight, we won’t be back. Without any notice or warning, they’ve started kicking families out at 8:00 pm—even though the entire business is located on a farm with a playground and already has clearly marked adults-only areas. This place used to be known as family-friendly, but that’s clearly no longer the case.
On top of that, the beer is overpriced and honestly not that great. Now that they’ve made it clear that families aren’t welcome, I can confidently say we—and a lot of other people we know—will be taking our business to Unionville.
Kids are part of society too, and for parents who rarely get to go out, this feels like a slap in the face to the very people who have supported them for years. Disappointing is an understatement.
This isn’t the first time 1781 has missed the mark. Remember when they started charging a cover for everyone—yes, even the kids—whether you were there for the painfully loud entertainment or not? Classic.
Their beer took a nosedive after they lost their master brewer, and when word finally got around that it was halfway decent again, we thought maybe things had turned around. Lesson learned.
1781 isn’t the local gem it used to be—it’s for the tourists and whatever pretentious crowd they’re trying to impress this season. We’re officially out.
