点评:This was perhaps the best tourist site I visited in Edmonton. I was only able to allocate 2 & 3/4 hours for my visit. My tour book had told me to allow more time - and it was right. I would have liked having another hour there.
As others have mentioned, the Indigenous Experience stop is just awful. The lighting is terrible. The displays include a lot of quotes - but it hard to understand context and/or intent of many of quotes (perhaps because other content is difficult to see with bad lighting). It seems like they are trying to take an innovative approach that differs from conventional museums - and they just botched it. Skip this initial stop at Fort Edmonton. There are many better museums to visit if you want to learn about Canada's first people.
Most of the reenactors seem friendly and competent. A stand-out (when I visited in August) was the young man at the fur trading post in the fort. He definitely knew his history. He had an engaging style that kept visitors entertained. But he also did not force you to engage if you just wanted to look around.
There are several discounts off admission available. A quick thanks to Sherry in the ticket office who helped me identify a discount or two I was eligible for during my visit.
