Light weight museum, great snow shoe collection.
Musee de la Civilisation的点评
点评:The museum is a modern museum, that is, it is not based on a collection per se but on multi-media presentations with some artifacts. We really only went to the section on the First Nations of Quebec since we had already heard a lot about the colonial history of the city and the region and were not interested in the children's exhibits or the Titanic. We took the guided tour with a young French woman named Lison who was knowledgeable and informative. We liked Lison. We learned some things but since we live in upstate NY, we were more interested in the Inuit than the Iroquois and Algonquins because we kind of know about them already. I think if you have already been on some kind of guided tour of Old Quebec and know a bit about indigenous people in the region, you can skip this museum. If you don't, by all means go and take the tour. The native snow shoe collection was impressive.
