点评:This sprawling peninsular park is an absolute must-visit while in Vancouver. We explored it twice during our 9-day trip: first by bike and later on foot. We rented bikes and did the 9km counter-clockwise (one-way) Stanley Park Seawall loop and got to enjoy harbour/mountain views and see iconic landmarks like the Totem Poles, Brockton Point Lighthouse, Girl in a Wetsuit statue, Lions Gate Bridge, Siwash Rock and more. We locked the bikes near Third Beach and even went on a short hike to see the famous Hollow Tree. A few days later we went on a random walk—from the Seawall path we took a shortcut inland towards the statue of Robert Burns then Lord Stanley and from there took the trails to check out the Japanese Canadian War Memorial and Lumbermen's Arch a little further away.
Plenty of interconnecting walking trails in the Vancouver Aquarium area but, no worries, the wayfinding signage conveniently include distances to nearby attractions. Really helpful info especially if, like us, you have no intention to walk too far since there's the return walk to consider. It was also such a treat to walk among the park's big trees. That's something we don't see every day, of course, we had to pose for photos next to these giants.
Stanley Park is definitely a bucket list destination. We only spent about 4 hours total so didn't get to see everything it has to offer but we saw enough to make us want to come back to Vancouver. Vancouverites are so lucky they have this awesome park in their backyard.
