Classic Australian Surf Beach Just North of Manly Beach

点评：Curl Curl is a classic Australian surf beach with a long expanse of golden sand and crashing waves. It’s north of Manly Beach and is very popular with locals but is not well-known to tourists.
There is a lot to love about Curl Curl Beach. At the southern end, there is a wonderful natural swimming pool carved into the rocks and an excellent beachside cafe, The Beach Eatery, which sits above the sand, overlooking the ocean.
A scenic boardwalk starts at the southern end. Hugging the coastline, it leads around to the Freshwater headland and from here, you can easily extend the walk along to Freshwater Beach and onto Manly.
Curl Curl is long enough to be divided into North Curl Curl & South Curl Curl, each with their own SLS (surf lifesaving) club. It’s about a 20 - 30 minute walk from one end to the other.
North Curl Curl also has an ocean pool and a shallow lagoon that flows through the local reserve, down to the beach. It’s the quieter end of the beach.
Facilities at both ends are good, with beach patrols and large public change-room and toilets, although I prefer South Curl Curl which is a little livelier.
