点评：Quark Expeditions’ Ultramarine departed in late August 2025 from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland (after its passengers made the trip by air charter from Reykjavik, Iceland) on the “Northwest Passage: The Legendary Arctic Sea Route”. After crossing the Davis Strait, the Ultramarine headed to Baffin Island and anchored for a day at Pangnirtung, an Inuit hamlet in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of the Canadian territory of Nunavut (66º 09’ N / 65º 43’ W) and the gateway Auyuittuq National Park. During the trip from the Davis Strait to Pangnirtung, we encountered harp and bearded seal, polar bear, snow bunting, the red-throated loon, black-legged kittiwake, ivory and Ross gulls, greater and lesser black-backed gulls, glaucous and Icelandic (Thayer) gulls, and arctic and pomarine skua.
While visiting Pangnirtung we stopped by Uqqurmiut Centre for Arts & Crafts, the local artists’ community, which includes a Tapestry Studio, a Craft Gallery, and a Print Shop. After we returned to the Ultramarine, we learned the opening scene of The Spy Who Loved Me was shot in Pangnirtung, with Roger Moore’s James Bond (or more accurately his stunt double) make an unbelievable leap on skis off a snowy mountaintop.
