Kilimanjaro Experts的点评
点评：8-day Alternative Lemosho Route, followed by a day-trip safari to Tarangire:
Climbing the roof of Africa is of course one of the bucket-list experiences in life and and I am in awe of the beauty of this mountain and incredibly proud that I have climbed it. A big part of the success was that I had chosen Kilimanjaro Experts. There is a good reason for the name, the guides really do know this mountain, they understand the dangers of the altitude and are very experienced in keeping trekkers safe and make it a successful climb.
While safety is paramount, this sounds all a bit boring. But I assure you, it is not.
Our head guide Hillary was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the fauna, flora and geology, he also has such passion for his job and that was so inspiring. And then we had a lot of fun and silly jokes, too. In the end, it was the people that made it such an unforgettable experience. The kindness and care of the porters blew me away and I still don't quite know how the cook produced such tasty food (several courses for each meal) with the limited resources in the camps. Knowing that the porters are treated fairly was always important to us and once we got to know them, we were really glad that we had chosen KE who are KPAP partners.
The trek was of course a tough act to follow, especially if it is just day trip safari. But our day in Tarangire was nothing short of wonderful and again our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. In no time we had spotted four out of the Big Five and countless other animal species and their interesting behaviour.
And last but not least, thanks to Henry who responded always very quickly to our questions in the lead up to the trip (and even during). His excellent book was my companion for many weeks before the trip, during the trip and I will still pick it up now sometimes to bring back memories of this amazing experience.
