点评：My partner and I (both 32) had an incredible 14 day holiday in Sri Lanka, and we couldn’t have asked for a better driver and guide than Shan. It really wouldn't have been half the holiday it has been without him. If you're uncertain if you need a driver/guide, or are questioning if you can afford it, I would wholeheartedly tell you that it's something you will not regret.
Local knowledge, having his support and stress-free travel is invaluable. Driving in Sri Lanka is not for the faint hearted and I feel like having that burden throughout our trip would have caused a lot of stress. Shan was safe, patient and always went out of his way to get us everywhere in the smoothest way possible.
Shan is not just your driver. We gave him a day-to-day schedule of what we wanted to do in our time there, and he took that, understood the things we wanted to see and do, but then improved it 10 fold. He knew about things you can't find online. Viewpoints, attractions, restaurants, walks, little hidden gems that were the things that made our holiday what it was. He advised us on things such as avoiding crowds at attractions during certain times or national holidays (there are alot!), customs such as when to tip and when to barter on price, what is considered respectful to religious areas, organised all of our attractions (often getting us a discount in the process), got us the best Safari drivers, the best seats at things, the best tables, honestly just securing us 5 star service. You are so looked after but not in an uncomfortable way.
Shan is so friendly and easy going, you feel so at ease with him within an hour or so. We met his family and spent time with them which was so lovely. He is caring, kind, considerate and genuinely wants you to have the best time. He is the sort of person that can tailor your time there to exactly what you want, lively or relaxed, young or old, adventurous or reserved. He completely understood us.
His friendly trusting nature, professionalism, and genuine care made our experience truly special. He was always on time/early and communicated brilliantly. The vehicle itself is kept constantly clean, it's spacious, comfortable and air conditioning is a life saver! Shan also gives you fresh bottles of water each day which is really helpful.
If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, reliable, and thoughtful driver/guide/holiday planner in Sri Lanka, we highly recommend Shan - you won't get anyone better!
