雷尼拉堡的点评
点评：It is one of the "must watch" during your holidays in Malta for me. Of course, the biggest feature is the 100-tons cannon (it's even heavier, but this you will get to know during your guided tour), however I think the thing that really makes this place worth seeing is the team, which is (by the way, in each one Wirt Artna's museum on Malta) wonderful, and I really would like all of the guides in each museum around the world to be that passionate and dedicated to this job like these people. The amount of knowledge and emotions they are trying to pass you are enormous, also after the tour you can speak freely with everyone from the crew, ask them about the things that you're interested about or just have a small text.
At the Fort Rinella you can also see a unique hydraulic system, one of the most modern and complicated for its times, and the whole process of loading, unloading and cleaning the cannon explained on the movie and by the tour guide.
Pro tip 1: ask a guide about the tour when you'll be already down in the fort, in the ticket office you can get just the audio tour guide, which I unfortunately didn't really find interesting and also the device itself was a little bit complicated to use, so always try to catch one of the guides for a tour around :)
Pro tip 2: ask a guide about shooting a Martini-Henry gun - for 5€ you can shoot a blind cartridge from a 1875 well known British gun - for me, a fan of Battlefield 1 game it was a duty, which I will remember for a looong long time. Believe me, it's really worth it, especially when when the money goes for the foundation development, which I really would like to help even further seeing the job that they're doing.
