点评:The location of the centre given on Trip Advisor is incorrect by a couple of hundred metres but on our arrival, we were very grateful to be able to use their toilets and buy some soft drinks and cork products.
The lady at the centre was very friendly and helpful; even giving us advise on visiting and parking at Evora. The owners of this centre have created a dozen excellent outdoor educational boards covering topics such as probable interpretations of the carvings on the megaliths, how they were erected, regional pre-history, more modern local history (ie from the Romans and since) and flora and fauna. Without this background, the visit would have been far less engaging.
The lady warned us the roads were terrible. Indeed, a grader is urgently needed as the buses and cars have to crawl along. The dirt road is so degraded, if it was a ski field the surface would be described as very challenging moguls.
The 92 Cromeleque dos Almendres standing stones are well worth a visit, although you are separated from them by a fence.
When walking to the single Menhir dos Almendres, wear good walking shoes and avoid the brambles.
