点评:Visiting Kloster Dalheim was a lovely surprise. The buildings are beautifully restored with carefully crafted exhibition spaces - beautiful detailing by the responsible architects, so many nice touches. The cloister buildings themselves start in the Middle Ages, include a Gothic church and later additional buildings. There are no more practicing nuns there - it is an exhibition space about life and culture in the monastery. The museum is a bit niche. I am not sure it warrants a trip from far away, but for anyone already in the area, definitely recommended!
There is a small, but lovely garden to visit, and a shop with typical monastery products - jam, liqueurs, soap. We bought some - it was very good. For a break, there is a restaurant and cafe - food was much better than expected, and they have a solid choice of cakes, friendly service. The place is popular, and they don’t seem to have sufficient staff, so maybe try to get there early if you can.
