点评：We didn’t know what to expect when we booked this tour, but it turned out to be a private car for just the two of us, with the driver also acting as our guide.
Ali was knowledgeable, personable, and attentive throughout the day. He adapted the itinerary to our interests and pace, making the experience feel very personal.
There are some extraordinary temples to see on the island, as well as the beautiful Blue Lake. A fun bonus was the resident photographer, who simply AirDropped the photos directly to our phones.
We also visited the main market in the capital, where we saw an extraordinary array of colourful fruits, vegetables, and local produce. The salted fish shop, in particular, was unforgettable. Afterwards, we drove back north and stopped at a fish restaurant built on stilts over an estuary. It was a very modest establishment, but it served the best meal we had during our stay in Bintan.
This trip gave us a wonderful opportunity to experience authentic Indonesian life up close. Ali was the perfect guide, tailoring the day to what he felt we would enjoy while also listening when we wanted to slow down or take a break.
