点评：The actual monument to the Donner Party is located about 75 yards from the museum which is now in a beautiful new building with restrooms, AC/Heat, a great gift shop and friendly staff. The displays are informative and have many actual artifacts from the Donner Party and also from the building of the Transcontinental Railroad, which took place on the same mountain pass. We found it interesting and stimulating in learning about the Pioneer wagon trains, Donner Party, Chinese laborers on the railroad, and eventual development of the highways and roads over the mountains that enabled migration during the Depression, expansion of vacation opportunities, commerce and recreational activities. Highly recommended for all ages.
