A Comfortable and Diverse Safari Experience 3 hours from Cape Town
Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve的点评
点评:Inverdoorn was an excellent choice as a last day option to see cheetah and rhino in the wild. We didn’t see them in Botswana 14 years ago and not at Hluhluwe Umfolozi or iSimangaliso National Parks this trip.
The 2 young male cheetah did a morning run after a lure, as part of their training and rehabilitation to the wild. We were on a balcony stand about 50m from their dirt track.
Inverdoorn feeds most the animals in drought, which is most of the time here in the dry inland. Feeding also helps locate them as there is plenty of land for them to ‘hide’ in, though mostly low growing Fynbos and Karoo. The rhino have horns trimmed to be safe from poachers, or in one case a female had survived poachers. The lions, who were born in captivity, but still wild, are in a separate area to keep them safe, more than the other animals. It was still plenty large enough for 3 vehicles to fail in finding them after 30 minutes driving all over the next morning.
The staff, overnight food and accommodation were very good. All we could need. It’s a pity we had to rush off to the airport nearly 3 hours away.
One warning. It’s higher altitude and colder than Cape Town, but there are blankets in the open back safari vehicles.
