点评:One of the interesting historic attractions you can see along the South Esk River near Launceston is the old Duck Reach Power Station, which was the first publicly owned hydro-electric plant in the Southern Hemisphere. Operating between 1895 and 1955, it is situated on the west side of the river and is now repurposed into a small museum exhibiting the Station's history.
You can access the Duck Reach Power Station by way of the Duck Reach and First Basin walking tracks within the Cataract Gorge. Alternatively, you can park your vehicle across the river at Corin Street and walk down into the gorge, over a suspension bridge to visit as well.
We spent around 10 minutes at the old Duck Reach Power Station, reading up on the information panels, learning about its construction and flood damage of 1929. There is a nice viewing platform above the Station and views of the river from the suspension bridge are pretty nice as well.

您可以通过卡塔拉特峡谷内的鸭子河和第一盆地步道前往鸭子河发电站。或者,您也可以将车停在河对岸的科林街,然后步行穿过一座吊桥进入峡谷参观。
