点评:Booked the Indulgence Spa Day as a surprise 50th present for my wife.
Upon arrival yesterday (16th July) to the spa reception we noticed a sign advising guests that a civil ceremony was taking place at lunchtime & the spa garden would be closed whilst their service was taking place & to expect noise disturbance thereafter. The spa garden is right next door to the chapel & grounds with a thin screening of twigs.
Had I been advised of this upon booking I would’ve declined & taken my business elsewhere!!
Guests rooms were oddly located overlooking the spa garden, and with young kids too, no privacy at all!! Swearing guests shouting from balconies, smoking and staff setting up wasn’t very relaxing and this was within 20mins of being there!!!!
I immediately addressed this with staff, their attitude was very much it’s my problem not the hotels, to which I escalated matters to the spa manager Sam. Initially I felt the same way, it’s my problem, what do you want me to do & what would you like were her comments, very dismissive. Having worked in luxury travel for 30years I was quite shocked & saddened that as paying guests & for a 50th birthday the feeling we were given was so negative.
My wife’s treatments were moved without discussing us knowing, although minor time changes another little issue as it meant my wife was back-to-back for an hours full body massage followed immediately by an hours facial. However, my wife did enjoy her treatments with Rochelle.
We had to eat inside because of the wedding which was stuffy and airless. The afternoon tea was bland & stale, dry crusts on sandwiches and scones hard, the egg was flavourless & jams wishy washy.
Overall really disappointed & angry to be treated as we were, definitely NOT returning following their feedback email & being offered a 15% discount on future bookings.

我妻子的护理时间被挪了,而且事先没有和我们商量。虽然时间上的小变动只是个小问题,但这意味着我妻子必须连续进行一个小时的全身按摩,然后紧接着进行一个小时的面部护理。不过,我妻子确实很享受Rochelle的护理。
