Totally different check-in experience compared to PEI/NS ferry

点评：I'm writing this after having first travelled on the ferry between PEI and Nova Scotia and it being a no hassle on-time experience. The check-in for the ferry from Digby to St. John was unbelievably different. I already had a reservation and arrived more than one-hour prior to sailing. They directed me into the parking lot but didn't tell me anything else. I had to ask a parking guy what was up while I illegally parked in a restricted space. He said I had to go into the terminal for check-in. There was a line starting to form at the door and it took 30 minutes just to get to the counter. The agent scanned my ticket and told me to go outside. Now, if you travel the PEI/NS ferry, they scan your ticket at a booth as you drive in, easy peasy. But, in spite of the check-in hassle, the crew on this ferry do a tremendous job getting cars loaded and parked quickly and efficiently. The ferry was comfortable and there was plenty of seating in different areas. There are numerous food options also. The ferry was scheduled to leave at 11:00 am but it didn't leave the dock until 11:30 am and I arrived in St. John at 1:45 pm. The day I went (August 1st), they had just reduced the rates 50% and I'm not sure if this is what impacted this entire experience or not. They said they would refund the difference I paid, and they did without issue about a week later. It still was a great way to save some driving time on my road-trip.
