点评:Visited island as part of tour from Puno, the locals in traditional costume help you on to the island and the head man and guide describes how the islands are built, their lifestyle and how the reeds can be used in various ways, including eating them. Then you are shown in small groups one of the huts and miraculously all the local souvenirs are on display. But it is up to the visitors to haggle for purchases. We took a reed boat row around the floating island, cost about 20 PEN each for a 20 minute trip, with one of the local children come on board, sang a few songs for tips off the passengers. We both enjoyed the trip and accept modern advances are slightly masked, modern speedboats are moored to the rear of the island, but was happy to help financially the local island people maintain this way of life.
