点评:I rarely post reviews online, especially bad ones. It is always nicer to deal with issues in person. When I do that at a hotel/ranch offering trail rides, which is apparently so concerned about a 'good experience', I expect them to deal with that professionally and not in an insecure, overwhelmed and unable way.
I've done many trail rides, have seen quite a few stables in Europe and the US and this here at Bill Cody Ranch is horrific.
Unfortunately I didn't pay enough attention to more reviews, I would have definitely avoided this place.
We stayed here for two nights and did a 4 hour trail ride. The room is ok, with no privacy to your next door neighbours though (we heard EVERY intimate bit).
The worst and frankly heartbraking experience (when you see horses as living creatures and not as money printing maschines) is the trail ride.
Horses sleeping &standing in their own excrements, with sometimes multiple open wounds being readied for a ride with equipment that could break any minute.
Another anxious horse running around freely with a bleeding eye.
Our wrangler had to do everything by herself. Helping everybody mount, leading us up a steep trail, full of big stones and branches in our way. I am an experienced rider, many weren't. And that's nothing you sign in a waiver. It is the rancher's responsibility to give a safe environment. Since we did not have that, one person fell of her unsteady horse. With no cell reception a bad fall would have been horrific. Adding to that again: just one wrangler having to manage all responsibilities and obviously with no first aid training. As we found out, no training for those rides at all.
The high praised burgers were burnt, we did not have enough buns.
After the fall all of our unexperienced riders were now afraid to go back down that mountain.
We made it back, after one of our experienced riders helped out with switching horses and taking the lead (a PAYING customer).
When talking about this to the person in charge, he denied everything, blamed it all on the poor wrangler.
Only offer for a 'good experience': another ride. No thanks, I won't be complicit in torturing another horse to take me up that hill. I respect animals, their safety and don't exploit them for money.
