点评:This is a nice day trip from Matsumoto. You can get the whole transport package through Alpico. They do bus and train transfers and it works well. You can book through their website.
You will probably not be alone on this walk, it's popular and there were hundreds of people around the start. There are even hotels there. Firstly you cross the Kappa-bashi bridge after leaving the bus stop then you follow the path. You can't get lost as the walk is well signposted and there will be other people doing it. Just follow the sound of the bear bells! Most of the walk is on board walks so you shouldn't get muddy. Up until now all this is free, it's only when you get to the pond you have to pay if you want to see it. I thought it was worth the money, besides you have just walked an hour to see it.
There are also monkeys, not on the walk but around the base station near the camping grounds.
All in all it's a good day out.
