点评:The muezzin’s call to prayer that is heard all over Cairo adds a flavour of the Eastern world and its daily thankfulness for another day. Stay here and watch the light change on the pyramids as the sun moves across the sky; time measured in a seemingly timeless world.
Do not expect room service, slippers and the rest of bland corporate hospitality; Erica and Khalim(?) are busy people and primarily concerned with their horses welfare. The room/s each have Erica’s personal quirky features, modern showers with plentiful solar heated hot water and all have a large window with views towards the pyramids and an outside seating area. There is a small shared kitchen on each floor.
Khalim, who has ridden horses all his life, can arrange riding trips straight into the desert.. and perhaps even better, you can order a traditional Egyptian meal home-cooked by members of his extended family. We shared ours, seated on colourful cushions, with a kind German family as the sun set behind the pyramids. Beware though.. it will be a vast amount and so delicious, you may not be able to get back on a horse the next day!
