点评：The name Byron Beach is a general and sweeping reference to the long, long stretch of beach in the centre of Byron Bay.
Formally, its divided into three different sections, Main Beach, Clarkes Beach and The Pass.
The busiest and most popular part in front of Apex Park is Main Beach. Its immediately recognisable because it has the large, established Byron Bay Surf Life Saving clubhouse overlooking the beach.
From here, if you walk east towards the headland, the beach changes at some point and morphs into Clarkes Beach.
The stretch at the very end beneath the headland and Fishermans Lookout is commonly known as The Pass.
If you walk along them, they look like one long beach. There’s no real start or end to let you know when Main Beach becomes Clarkes Beach or Clarkes becomes The Pass.
Each is lovely although The Pass was our favourite, mainly because it had a lovely series of shallow rock pools which were large enough for small children to paddle and swim in. Even toddlers can lie in these warm waters and kick their legs as if they are swimming. This is a very sheltered, safe area. Once we discovered it, we stayed here for a couple of hours.
All the beaches along this strip have good facilities, including toilets blocks, change rooms, showers, car-parking, and park or picnic areas where you can retreat if you need some time out of the sun and off the sand.
Parking is tricky around here. It’s not free and in any case, it’s hard to find a spot. We stayed at Beachfront Apartments, directly across from Main Beach which was brilliant because we hardly moved our car during our stay in Byron and we could easily walk to both Main and Clarkes beaches.
