点评:This was a great experience. We took a taxi to the ruins, walked up and had the place to ourselves. It’s a big site, peaceful and with beautiful views.
We walked the trail back down to Ollantay - 10 soles each, collected as the trail meets the road (and there were some drinks available. And weirdly large gloves).
The walk was brilliant, walking past micro farms, old terraces, random fruit trees and a surprising number (and variety) of eucalyptus trees. The last part of the walk (turn left down the hill when you get to the Media Luna terraces) is mostly alongside a river, with just the last half km or so being on the road.
There were some serious infrastructure works by the road opposite the stairs up to Pumamarca. It seems they are building some tourist facilities, so this may no longer be free in the future.
But it would still be worth paying if it does change!
