Absolutely beautiful place - a must-do tour

点评：We booked direct with them through the website and this included pick-up from our hotel in Negril. All very simple and communication was fast and friendly.
I spotted that the journey time didn’t make sense and queried it - and just as well 7:40am is very different from 9am!
With that wee wrinkle ironed out, I have nothing but good things to say about the tour.
The small bus:coach was basic but comfortable and huge windows meant you really got a sense of the places driven through. And heading up from the coast into the mountains is just amazingly beautiful, so the drive was very much part of the experience for us. Like most roads in this part of the island, potholes are plentiful, and the last few miles are “interesting”, but the driver was great and clearly knows the route well.
Arrangements were laid back on arrival, but that suits the place (and heat!). After a tasty drink and an introductory talk, the guide walked us around a short route clearly set-up to give you a taster of the crops and flowers grown on the estate as well as native wild species.
There were stopping points at tasting stations, where we tried different pineapple types, drank amazing ginger beer and samples of a wide range of in season fruit.
The owner joined us for the last part of the tour, chatted to us over lunch and then offered to take us on a second tour that focused more on the flowers and future plans.
The place is fantastic - the passion for trying to make a truly organic set-up function is palpable. As is the love for the abundance of native food/medicine sources, a sharp tug and a knife uncovering how ginger, turmeric, lemongrass and so much more are lurking all around.
The views of the estate and the valleys and mountains beyond are breathtaking. This is a truly beautiful place.
I’d totally recommend this as a great value and stunning day out. The drive to get there is in itself fascinating and then the place is like a little slice of heaven on earth.
Which is only enhanced by the owner/guide sharing their clear pride and deep love of the place and nature’s bounty.
Oh and the included lunch of chicken (straight off the bbq) rice and peas was the best we’ve ever had in Jamaica - and that’s saying something!
Practical info: it’s a fairly short walk with some slopes, but undertaken at a very, very leisurely pace with stone benches here and there. Shade available so you can generally get out the searing sun at the talking/tasting stops - but remember a hat!
